An ambitious exhibition, a collaboration between the Royal Academy of Arts and the Benaki Museum in Athens, provides a grand-scale survey of 1,000 years of Byzantine history. Highlighting the splendours of the Byzantine Empire, Byzantium 330-1453 will incorporate over 300 objects. Some of the works have never been displayed in public before. Tolkien, Race and Cultural History, by Dimitra Fimi, explores the evolution of Tolkien's
mythology by examining how it changed as a result of Tolkien's life story and
contemporary cultural and intellectual history. The book considers Tolkien's
creative writing as an ever-developing 'legendarium': an interconnected web
of stories, poems and essays, from his early poems in the 1910s to his latest

From Greece, historic home of mime, this gripping, wordless version of the Oedipus myth unfolds in the language of movement. performing on a steeply inclined plane, a six-strong ensemble play the protagonists linked to the cursed house of the Labdacides.
