Taking its' name from the main ingredient of the national drinks, Rakı and Ouzo, Aniseed is made up of musicians from Greece and Turkey (Pavlos, Çiğdem, Dimitris) who play a fusion of Greek and Turkish traditional music with strong reference to Rebetiko and Fasil. Join, for a nostalgic journey that will take you to the shores of the Mediterranean, with music that is sad but also full of joy at the same time. After a few glasses of Rakı or Ouzo it will be hard to resist the lure of the dance floor! The venue is at the Gem Restaurant, 256 Upper Street N1 2UR. Tickets are at 6 in advance (£8 at the door) from Hasan Sahan 07786 6262064, hasan.sahan@gmail.com, www.wegottickets.com/event/40249 (booking fee applies).
