As direct high-level talks continue between the Cypriot leaders, there is one aspect of the settlement process that necessarily requires the active participation of external actors: security. This talk will examine a range of security questions and issues that need to be tackled, such as demilitarisation, the presence of foreign troops, the Treaty of Guarantee, peacekeeping and ensuring the post-solution defense of Cyprus.
